So, once again I am going to sleep at three AM, waking up at 9:30AM, and taking a nap at 7-8 PM and ruining everything. Lather, rinse, repeat. I wish I could fall into a nice, healthy sleep pattern and just stick with it. I expect that since classes started again, I'm going to do it out of necessity. One of the things I really liked about the character was that she challenged the reader's initial views on the house of Ravenclaw, and since it stands for intelligence, the nature of intelligence itself. Damn it all, it's happened. A little girl in my class asked me to send a letter to Dumbledore. (I do this thing where whenever it's someone's birthday, they get a package from Hogwarts with something small in it for them, and leave the packages next to an open window with owl feathers.) So, I watched the midnight showing of Harry Potter.

Guh. I can't formulate an actual review just yet, because I am still all caught up in the experience. That, and I am e-fucking-xhausted and am trying to prepare myself for work with the kiddies. This weekend had Astronomy Night on the National Mall, in which I got to look through a lot of telescopes and see sunspots, the lunar surface, and Saturn. Pretty fun! A bunch of representatives from some observatories and NASA were there, handing out flyers and photos and CDs and stuff. NASA had glasses that blocked blue or red light, and those ( Read more... )

Yesterday I went to the National Gallery of Art for a scavenger hunt by Watson Adventures. It was an event posted by one of the meet-up groups I've joined, and based on the HP book series because I am renewing my fannishness of the series through my rereads with the kids. The hunt itself?
